ALA - ACTIVE LIVING ALLIANCE
The ALA promotes, supports and enables Canadians with disabilities to lead active, healthy lives by providing nationally coordinated leadership and information that facilitates active living opportunities for Canadians of all abilities across all settings and environments. The ALA network includes any organization, community or individual who embraces their principles and goals and has grown to more than 500,000 contacts!!

ALS SOCIETY OF CANADA
Further to funding research for the cure, the Provincial ALS Societies develop local chapters and support groups to provide direct support to people with ALS, their families and caregivers. They also offer information and referrals, equipment programs and engage in advocacy for people with ALS, their families, caregivers, physicians and health-care providers as well as spreading awareness.

SMD - SOCIETY FOR MANITOBANS WITH DISABILITY
SMD is a family of organizations that are working together to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in Manitoba.
Each of the five members of the SMD family has its own specific role to play in SMD’s non-profit operations:
- SMD Alliance provides strategic direction and coordination for all SMD operations.
- SMD Self-Help Clearinghouse provides support to self-help organizations that, in turn, provide support to people seeking self-help services.
- SMD Foundation is the fundraising member of the family, raising funds primarily through its Easter Seals Manitoba activities.
- SMD Services initiates and coordinates the actual connections, programs and services in areas ranging from education and work experience to counseling and therapy programs.
- SMD Ventures is responsible for building partnerships, coordinating joint ventures and managing investments on behalf of SMD.
